International Fajr Visual Arts Festival in Tehran

For the first time, Greece participates this year in the Fajr Visual Arts Festival, Tehran, in a special exhibition titled “The House of Nations” hosted by the Eco Cultural Institute from 9-23 February 2018.

The Fajr International Visual Arts Festival (21/1 – 23/2/ 2018) was founded in 2009 to promote original ideas, creative art and the interaction between Iranian and international artists.

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Tehran presents to the Iranian audience the paintings “Flying Lady” by Leonidas Giannakopoulos and “Marriage” by Theodoros Espiritou. In addition, the audiovisual project “Pnoes” (a video art  work with narrations of Greek poetry) by Kyriakos Chatzimichailidis, is projected in a special installation. It is a video art series that highlights the work of great Greek poets, from the last two centuries, whose artistic value and poetic hight are undoubted: Cavafy, Houliarakis, Karyotakis, Kavvadias, Christianopoulos and others. The narration of the poems in Greek, is dressed in carefully selected music, mainly drawn from the classical repertoire, featuring English subtitles.
