55 Paintings to Celebrate 55 Years of Russo-Cypriot Friendship

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nicosia and Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Cyprus invite you to an exhibition of paintings by significant Russian painters from the private Cypriot collections to celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations between Russia and Cyprus.

This exhibition offers a mere glimpse, a sampling of the vibrant and brilliant world of Russian and Soviet Period art. It is a tribute to the talented artists of Russia, many of whom worked in obscurity, while others defied restrictions to triumph and gain international recognition.

The opening will take place at the Russian Cultural Center in Nicosia on January 25. The Russian Ambassador to Cyprus, Mr. Stanislav Osadchiy, will inaugurate the exhibition. Mr. Kostas Kadis, Minister of Education and Culture, and Mrs. Claire Angelidou, President of Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Cyprus, will also address the gathering.

Hellenic Foundation for Culture is also pleased to present this exhibition in view of 2016 being the year of Russo-Greek friendship, and as we prepare to welcome Russia as the Honored Guest Country at the 13th International Thessaloniki Book Fair in May.
