Fairy Tales & Songs for All the World’s Children – Athens

Three days of cultural events for students of the intercultural Schools of Attica entitled Fairy Tales & Songs for All the World’s Children organized by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture to mark the Christmas season, in collaboration with the Region of Attica.

A winter flower, kallikantzari, musical and theatrical performances, an art workshop and holiday snacks await the children on December 16-18, 2015, in the large living room of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.

Storytellers, musicians and educators create a colorful, festive journey of love, stories and songs from around the world. The performances The Snow Flower and Boil an Egg, to Find the Kallikantzaros, with fairy tales from both Greek oral tradition and the traditions of the world, accompanied by live music, performed by artists from the group “Tales and Songs” (Evi Gerokosta – narration, Panagiotis Terzakis – voice, guitar, percussion) and the “The House of Fairy Tales” (George Evgenikos – narration, Irini Nikolakopoulou – violin, percussion, Emmanuel Paliakis – voice, Cretan lyre, ney, percussion) will entertain the students, big and small.

The libraries of the schools, participating in the event, will be enriched by a series of notable children’s and young adult books, donated by the Greek publishers.

With the valuable cooperation of the relevant directorates of education, the following schools will be participating with approximately 400 students: Intercultural Elementary School of Amfitheas, 2nd Intercultural Junior High School of Ellenikon, Intercultural Elementary School of Alsoupoli, 87th Intercultural Elementary School of Athens and 49th  Elementary School of Athens.
