The President and the members of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Foundation of Culture express their sadness over the death of the University of Ioannina professor emeritus and translator Sonia Ilinskaia - Alexandropoulos. Her contribution to scientific research and the promotion of Greek literature and poetry of the 20th century is undoubtedly enormous. The Hellenic Cultural Foundation was fortunate to collaborate with her in the anniversary events for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yannis Ritsos in 2009 in Odessa, where she participated by offering the Ukrainian audience a lecture on "Man and the world in his poetic "witnesses" Yannis Ritsou" but also later in 2013 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Constantinos Cavafy, whose poetry occupied her scientifically all her life.
