33rd International Istanbul Book Fair

The road trip of the Greek book continues to the 33rd International Istanbul Book Fair, starting tomorrow November 8 and running through November 11. We will be hosting the Greek stand at the fair, and we invite you to join us Sunday, November 9, at 13:00, for the presentation:
Three Women, Three Poets, which will feature readings of the poetry of Cavafy, Seferis and Varnalis as well as music performed by Taş Plak Kumpanyası. We hope to see you there.

Book Presentation – Venice

Thursday October 30, at 17:00, HFC–Trieste presents the new Modern Greek-Italian Dictionary, published by Zanichelli Publishers.
The presentation will take place in Venice in the Aula Magna of Ateneo Veneto, Campo San Fantin, 1897. This presentation is jointly made between the Ateneo Veneto, The Greek Embassy in Rome, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, and the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies, Venice.

HFC–Nicosia Opening

HFC is pleased to announce the opening of its new branch in Nicosia, Cyprus on October 26, 2014.

The opening will be celebrated with 5 days of cultural events:

October 26 at 20:30: Dance performance by the dance theatre Roës – Keep Greece in Your Soul – at the Strovolos Municipal Theatre.

59th Belgrade International Book Fair

We are representing Greece at the 59th Belgrade Book Fair, October 26 to November 2.

Alekos Levidis – Berlin

HFC–Berlin is currently showing the work of Alekos Levidis, a painter born in Athens in 1944. Alekos Levidis studied painting in Paris and architecture in Genf. He has had numerous solo and group shows.

Please come by if you are in Berlin. The exhibition is open Monday through Friday: 14:00-20:00 on Mondays and Thursdays, 11:00 to 17:00 the remaining days, until November 7.
