European Film Week in Tehran

“European Film Week 2017” is organised  in Tehran by the network of the European Union National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC) and the Iranian Youth Cinema Society. Films will be screened from October 31 to November 4, at the Tehran Film Museum.

The Hellenic Foundation for Culture participates in the European Week Film in Tehran showing films: Red Hulk by Asimina Proedrou, Chelsea – Barcelona by Alexandros Chantzis, Austerity by Renos Gavris, Driving lessons by Vasilis Kalamakis, Eviva by Dimitris Nakos & Amerissa Basta, March 4 by Dimitris Nakos, Figs by Nicolas Kolovos, The seed by Iphigeneia Kotsoni, Return by Christina Gousia, Maasai by Charry Lagoussis, Crossing over by Thodoris Vournas.

In total, more than twenty short films and feature lengths will be screened from 8 European countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland.

The European Film Week is held with the kind support of the European Union and the generous sponsorship of Iran DMC and Aryana Art Group.

OUR (SAFE?) EUROPEAN HOME – Belgrade Debate on Europe 2016

Central event of this year’s debate will be the main evening program from 18.00, in the cinema venue of Belgrade Cultural Centre (Kolarčeva 6).

Book presentation about Rigas Velestinlis in Bucharest

The Omonia publishing house, in partnership with the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, presents a bilingual (Greek-Romanian) volume about Rigas Velestinlis, the Greek scholar, writer and revolutionary, with the title: Rigas Velestinlis and the Romanian Principalities. The presentation will take place on Monday, 31th of October 2016 at 6pmin, at the Romanian National Library (“Mircea Eliade” room).

The journey of Greek books at international book fairs continues, after Beijing (24-28 August) and Moscow (7-11 September), where Greece was the Guest of Honour, to the Frankfurt Book Fair that will take place between 19 and 23 of October 2016 with Flanders and the Netherlands as the Guest of Honour.

Review of the 13th Thessaloniki Book Fair

The 13th Thessaloniki Book Fair, which took place at Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, from 12th to 15th May, proved to be – despite certain difficulties – one of the most successful Fairs in recent years, as it was admitted by all the involved parties, attracting more than 54,000 visitors.
